Graham Regional Theatre
We are a non-profit community theatre that encourages self-expression through dance, music, and theater. We believe that art is an essential part of any thriving community. We believe that arts lift the spirit and raise the collective consciousness of the citizens of our community and surrounding areas. We work to encourage a thriving community to be involved in and appreciate live theatre within Graham. At GRT, we strive to enrich the lives of all citizens of Young County. Graham Regional Theatre strives to unleash the artistic potential of every community member.
Graham Regional Theatre is proud to announce that they have a new home. The local not for profit theatre company purchased the building at 521 Elm St. and plans to renovate the space to provide storage for sets, props and costumes, shop space to construct sets and a small black box theatre space to use as performance space throughout the year.
Managing Artistic director, Christian Sanders, says, "Having a dedicated space will allow Graham Regional Theatre to expand not just the number of performances but the types of shows as well. We hope to include small cast comedies, mystery thrillers, musical reviews, dinner theaters, and many others. The space will provide a location for workshops, guest artists, and many other activities that promote and support theatre in our area."
Producer, Kay Berru, adds, “I am so excited for GRT to have this new venue. Graham Memorial Auditorium is a beautiful facility that has been my theatrical home for almost 50 years. GRT will continue to use GMA for our larger productions. However, acquiring our own space will enhance our efforts to achieve the mission of Graham Regional Theatre, which is to encourage self-expression through dance, music and theater.”
Board member, Anne Skipper, states, “We have big plans for the space and look forward to seeing everyone when we have completed the renovations. I am especially excited to be on the downtown square. Watch the marquee for upcoming productions.”
